Gonda: In a major enforcement drive aimed at strengthening road safety and ensuring compliance with transport regulations, a joint inspection team led by the Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) conducted intensive vehicle checks across various routes in Gonda district. The operation resulted in the seizure of six vehicles found violating transport norms.
During the inspection campaign, officials identified three vehicles operating in violation of the conditions specified in their permits. The vehicles were found to be deviating from approved routes, purposes, or other permit-related requirements, prompting immediate action by the authorities.
Additionally, three other vehicles were found carrying loads beyond their permitted capacity. Officials noted that overloading not only poses a serious threat to road safety but can also cause significant damage to road infrastructure and increase the risk of accidents.
Taking a strict view of the violations, the Transport Department’s joint enforcement team seized all six vehicles and initiated legal proceedings against the owners and operators concerned. Notices are being issued in accordance with the law, and punitive action will be taken under the relevant provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act and transport regulations.
Transport officials stated that ensuring road safety and maintaining an orderly transportation system remain top priorities for the department. They urged vehicle owners and drivers to operate their vehicles strictly in accordance with permit conditions and to refrain from practices such as overloading that endanger public safety.

The department emphasized that enforcement drives of this nature will continue on a regular basis across the district. Authorities warned that any vehicle found violating transport rules in the future will face stringent action without exception.
Officials reiterated that the objective of the campaign is to create a safer, smoother, and more efficient traffic environment while promoting greater compliance with transportation laws. The department expressed confidence that sustained enforcement efforts would help reduce road hazards and improve overall traffic management in the district.
The latest crackdown serves as a reminder to commercial vehicle operators that adherence to permit conditions and loading regulations is essential for ensuring public safety and maintaining the integrity of the transport system.
