Lucknow: Indiranagar Police have arrested a 32-year-old man who was wanted in connection with an alleged assault carried out with the intention of causing death.
The accused, identified as Rahul Sharma, was arrested from Takrohi village by a police team led by Takrohi outpost in-charge Dilip Kumar Chaubey under the direction of Indiranagar Inspector Ajay Kumar Singh.
According to police, the incident took place on September 18 following a dispute over an old financial transaction. The accused allegedly attacked two people with a sharp-edged object, causing serious injuries to both.
A case had been registered against Rahul Sharma in connection with the incident, following which police launched efforts to trace him.
Acting on available information, the Indiranagar police team arrested the accused from Takrohi village on Tuesday. Police said further legal proceedings are being carried out in accordance with the law.
The arrest was made as part of the police drive to apprehend suspects wanted in criminal cases and ensure action in cases involving violent assaults and threats.
