₹3-Crore Eco-Tourism Project Launched at Lilaur Lake to Boost Tourism and Local Economy in Aonla

Bareilly: A major eco-tourism development project aimed at transforming Lilaur Lake in the Aonla Assembly constituency into a prominent tourist destination has been launched with the foundation stone being laid for works estimated at nearly ₹3 crore.

The project is designed to promote tourism, improve public amenities and enhance the natural beauty of the lake while preserving its ecological significance. Once completed, it is is expected to provide visitors with modern recreational facilities and create new opportunities for local economic growth.

According to officials, the development plan includes the construction of a multi-purpose hall, food court, modern public toilets, landscaping and beautification works, along with other tourism-related infrastructure. The initiative is expected to improve the overall visitor experience and make Lilaur Lake a more attractive destination for tourists from across the region.

The project is also expected to generate employment and self-employment opportunities for local residents by encouraging tourism-linked businesses and services.

The initiative forms part of the Uttar Pradesh Government’s broader efforts to conserve and develop tourism destinations while promoting the state’s natural heritage and local culture. Officials said the project would help protect the ecological value of Lilaur Lake while contributing to sustainable regional development.

Once completed, Lilaur Lake is expected to emerge as one of the key tourist attractions of the Aonla Assembly constituency, strengthening the local economy and enhancing the area’s tourism profile.
