Gonda — At Congress Bhawan, Gonda, four individuals — Jan Savio Valley, Shaukat Ali alias Mali Baba, Michael Stephen Dias, and Shahid Ali — were formally inducted into the Congress party, under the leadership of City President Shahid Ali Qureshi, who draped them with the party sash.
Speaking on the occasion, all those who joined the party said they had faith in Congress’s policies and in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi, and pledged to work with dedication to strengthen his hands.
District Media In-charge Shiv Kumar Dubey, Anees Nana, Mohammad Rizwan, Jitesh Sharma, Zakir Ali, Hariram Verma, Vinod Sukai Bharti, Suraj Mishra, Hari Shyam Soni, and dozens of other party workers were present on the occasion.
Shiv Kumar Dubey and Shahid Ali Qureshi said that, as per directions from the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee, a protest march against “vote chori” (vote theft) would be taken out to the Collectorate at 2 PM on September 28, demanding the arrest of the Chief Election Commissioner and a review of the voter list, with a memorandum to be submitted on the occasion.
