Lucknow: The Department of Gynaecological Oncology at Kalyan Singh Super Speciality Cancer Institute (KSSSCI), Lucknow, organised its first Foundation Day along with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) programme on the theme “Bridging Advances with Practice.”
The programme began with a welcome address by Prof. Sabuhi Qureshi, Head of the Department, who also presented a report highlighting the department’s progress and achievements. Institute Director Prof. M.L.B. Bhatt congratulated the department and emphasised the importance of continuous learning, multidisciplinary collaboration and adoption of advanced treatment approaches.
Prof. Uma Singh, Senior Technical Director at the University of Manitoba and former Dean of KGMU, was the chief guest. The Foundation Day lecture was delivered by Dr Vijay K. Ahuja, Head of Academics, Aster International Institute of Oncology, Bengaluru.
The CME featured expert discussions on cancer diagnosis, surgery, systemic therapy, critical care and palliative care. A panel discussion on advanced epithelial ovarian cancer was conducted by Dr Soumya Gupta, Assistant Professor, Gynaecological Oncology.
Poster and video presentations were also held, with awards presented to winners. The event provided a platform for academic exchange and discussions aimed at strengthening cancer care.
