Lucknow: Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus organised Innovation Expo-2026 as part of its ongoing Innovation Week, providing students from various schools and departments with a platform to showcase their innovative ideas, creative projects and technology-driven models. Held on the theme ‘Innovate. Integrate. Impact’, the week-long initiative celebrates creativity, new thinking and ideas that have the potential to create meaningful impact in society.
Innovation Week is organised every year to mark the birthday of Dr. Aseem Chauhan, Chairman, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus. The Innovation Week, which commenced on September 21, features a series of seminars, conferences, competitions and other academic and creative activities aimed at encouraging innovation and an entrepreneurial spirit among students.
Professor (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, inaugurated Innovation Expo-2026 by cutting the ribbon. Dr. Anil Tiwari, Retd. Wing Commander and Dy Pro Vice Chancellor, Lucknow Campus; Dr. Rajesh Tiwari, Dean Academics; and Dr. Rajeev Verma, Dean Students’ Welfare, along with Heads of Institutions, faculty members and a large number of students, were present on the occasion.
Professor (Dr.) Anil Vashisht visited the various stalls and reviewed the projects and models presented by the students. He interacted with the participants to understand the concepts, functionality and potential applications of their innovations and appreciated their efforts to develop creative and practical solutions.
The expo featured a diverse range of projects from different academic disciplines. Students of the Amity School of Fashion Technology showcased uniquely designed garments reflecting creativity and contemporary design concepts. The Amity School of Hospitality attracted visitors with a range of innovative culinary creations, while students of the Amity School of Architecture presented sustainable building designs along with multi-purpose furniture concepts. ASFA, AIBAS, AIIT, ASL, AIB, ALS and other departments were also presented their models.
One of the major attractions of the expo was ‘Med Track V3 2.0’, an application developed by Mayank Kumar, student of the Amity School of Pharmacy. The application seeks to address several practical challenges associated with healthcare and patients’ everyday lives by integrating features related to the secure maintenance of medical records, accurate recording of medical history, emergency alerts and access to essential information about medicines.
Another major attraction was ‘RescueX Armour’, an automated rescue and mine-operational robot developed by Anuj, Srishti and Ayush, students of the Amity School of Engineering and Technology. Designed for use in challenging and hazardous environments, the robot can assist in navigation, delivery of first-aid kits and essential supplies, locating survivors, accessing confined spaces, detecting toxic gases and supporting search and rescue operations.
As part of the Innovation Expo, the Amity School of Communication Enhancement and Transformation (ASCENT), in association with the English Language Teachers’ Association of India (ELT@I), also organised ‘Readathon-2026 – Read, Understand and Rise’, an interactive reading comprehension competition. The initiative aimed to encourage students to develop regular reading habits while strengthening their comprehension, retention and analytical abilities.
As part of the competition, students studied a curated selection of significant works spanning literature, science, philosophy, psychology and contemporary thought. The reading list included Homer’s The Odyssey, Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice, Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein; or, The Modern Prometheus, Charles Darwin’s On the Origin of Species, Mark Twain’s Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Friedrich Nietzsche’s Beyond Good and Evil, Carl Sagan’s Cosmos and Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time, among other notable works.
Dr. Surabhi Modi Sahai, MD & Chief Executive Officer, CLAT Possible, Lucknow, was the Guest of Honour, while Mr. Satyam Sahai, Chairman & Founder, CLAT Possible, Lucknow, attended the programme as Guest.
In Readathon-2026, Zehra Naqvi, B.Tech. Biotechnology, and Aaliya Khan, B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, jointly secured the first position. Sanya secured the second position, while Saloni Kansal, B.Tech. Computer Science & Engineering, secured the third position.
The various activities organised during Innovation Week are providing students with opportunities to connect academic knowledge with creative experimentation, develop innovative ideas and explore ways of transforming them into practical solutions with wider social relevance.
