Lucknow: Yogi government has geared up to make Maha Kumbh 2025, which is going to be held in Prayagraj next year, memorable. Many major works are proposed to be developed along with the Sangam site which will make Mahakumbh special for the tourists. Under this, renovation of the Hanuman temple site is being done on a large scale, while the ropeway project is also going to start soon.
Along with this, construction work of Digital Kumbh Museum is also proposed. Instructions have been given by the government to complete all these works by December 2024. After completion of the work before Maha Kumbh, it will make the grand event of Maha Kumbh memorable for the devotees and tourists coming here.
Hanuman temple site work will start in April
In the apex committee meeting on 29 November 2023, in-principle approval was given for the construction work of Hanuman temple site. The executing agency of its work is Prayagraj Development Authority. The total cost of the work is proposed to be Rs 45.71 crore. The project has been approved by the PMA under former High Court judge P.K.S. Baghel. Legal opinion has also been taken.
Not only this, the working permission of the work site has also been granted by the Army and the process of signing the MoU for transfer of land will be completed soon, for which legal vetting is being done. The work will be started by PDA in April and is targeted to be completed in November, 2024. After completion of the work within the stipulated time, more number of visitors will be able to accommodate here.
Ropeway project work also in progress
To make the access of devotees to the Sangam easier, a ropeway is also proposed to be constructed. The 1281.5 meter long and 62 meter high ropeway project from Shankar Viman Mandapam on the dam near Sangam to Triveni Pushp in Arail was completed on 15 March 2024 by National Highways Logistics Management Ltd. (NHLML) which is targeted to be completed by December, 2024.
NOC has also been granted by the Defense Ministry in February 2024. Also, the Defense Ministry has directed the Army Headquarters to transfer the land. At present the work of sewerage, utility shifting, tree felling is in progress here.
Digital Kumbh Museum will give a glimpse of the golden past of Kumbh
Work has also started on the Digital Kumbh Museum being built on the proposed area of 40 thousand square meters on Arail Marg. Presently EOI for Digital Kumbh Museum has been invited by Prayagraj Development Authority, in which 2 bidders have submitted the plan. In the Digital Kumbh Museum, development of Akharas, galleries related to Samudra Manthan, Triveni Sangam Gallery as well as galleries depicting the history and spirituality of Kumbh will be created through VR.
Apart from this, galleries related to the origin and mythological stories of Kumbh, historical evolution of Kumbh Mela Gallery, Prayagraj Kumbh Mela Gallery, Haridwar-Nashik-Ujjain Kumbh Mela Gallery, Cultural and Religious Importance Gallery, Kumbh Mela in the 21st Century etc. were also developed. At the same time, parking facilities, cultural market, food plaza, landscaping etc. are also being developed.
