MJPRU Hosts ‘Mother–Daughter Conference’ to Promote Women’s Health and Empowerment

Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, organised a “Mother–Daughter Conference: Celebrating Women, Empowering Generations” as part of the celebrations for its 24th Convocation Ceremony. The event was held in the Syndicate Hall of the Department of Business Administration under the patronage and guidance of Uttar Pradesh Governor and Chancellor Anandiben Patel and Vice-Chancellor Prof. K.P. Singh.

The conference aimed to raise awareness about women’s health, education and empowerment while fostering greater social sensitivity towards issues affecting women across generations.

The programme commenced with a welcome address by Prof. (Dr.) Tulika Saxena, Dean of the Department of Business Administration and Convenor of the event. She highlighted that women’s health, education and empowerment form the foundation of a progressive and inclusive society. She reaffirmed the university’s commitment to organising programmes that address important social concerns and contribute to community welfare.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Komal Kakkar, Senior Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Bareilly, who spoke extensively on preventive healthcare for women, maternal health, family well-being, timely medical screening, nutrition, lifestyle management and the prevention of common women’s health disorders. She encouraged women and students to adopt healthy lifestyles, undergo regular health check-ups, maintain balanced nutrition and prioritise mental well-being.

During the programme, Dr. Kakkar was felicitated with a bouquet and a memento in recognition of her contribution. The conference also featured a discussion on the theme “Healthy Women • Healthy Families • Healthy Nation,” emphasising that the health and well-being of women are central to family prosperity and national development.

The event witnessed the active participation of faculty members, university staff, students and a large number of attendees. Vaishali Vishwakarma conducted the proceedings.

The successful organisation of the conference was made possible through the contributions of Prof. A.K. Singh, Prof. Nivedita Srivastava, Dr. Jyoti Pandey, Dr. Ruchi Dwivedi, Dr. Abha Trivedi, Dr. Kirti Prajapati, Dr. Amit Verma and Dr. Vinita Jain, along with other members of the organising team.

The programme concluded with participants collectively pledging to spread the message, “Together for Her Health, Her Happiness, Her Future.” The university administration expressed confidence that such awareness initiatives would continue to play a significant role in advancing women’s health, empowerment and inclusive social development.
