Lucknow: A ‘Vendor Development Program-2026’ was organized at PHD House, Gomti Nagar, with the aim of informing Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) about opportunities to increase their participation in government procurement. More than 200 entrepreneurs and industrial representatives attended the event, which was held under the joint aegis of the MSME-Development Office, Kanpur, and PHDCCI, Lucknow.

The chief guest, Pranjal Yadav (IAS), Secretary of MSME and Export Promotion, Government of Uttar Pradesh, stated that MSMEs play a pivotal role in the state’s industrial development. He urged entrepreneurs to make the most of digital platforms such as GeM and TReDS.

VK Verma, Director of the MSME-Development Office, Kanpur, noted that a target of 25 percent procurement from MSEs has been set for government purchasing. Special provisions have also been made for SC, ST, and women entrepreneurs. He called upon entrepreneurs to capitalize on these opportunities by understanding vendor registration and the government procurement process.

Atul Srivastava, Director at PHDCCI, remarked that government procurement and direct engagement with PSUs offer significant opportunities for business expansion for MSEs. He stated that such programs provide a platform for entrepreneurs to understand the actual procurement needs, technical standards, and vendor registration processes of PSUs. MSEs should leverage these opportunities while strengthening their quality and production capabilities.

Representatives from HAL, Power Grid, RDSO, ALIMCO, NTPC, and GAIL provided information on procurement and vendor registration opportunities available for MSEs during the event.
