Sarvodaya Vidyalaya Students to Now Study in Smart Classrooms, Future to Be Powered by Technology

Lucknow: With the aim of providing better education to students in the state and preparing them for the demands of the digital age and global competition, the Social Welfare Department has launched smart classrooms in 5 Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas. Under this initiative, taken up through CSR support from First Origin, one smart classroom each has been set up in 5 schools in the first phase.

An inauguration and interactive programme was held on Wednesday at Bhagidari Bhawan in Gomti Nagar in this connection. Chief guest and Minister of State for Social Welfare (Independent Charge) Asim Arun lit the ceremonial lamp to inaugurate the programme. Principal Secretary, Social Welfare, Anurag Yadav; Director, Social Welfare, Sanjeev Singh; Deputy Director J. Ram; and First Origin Managing Director Anuj Kumar Verma were present on the occasion.

Smart classrooms equipped with modern facilities

Director Sanjeev Singh said 103 Sarvodaya Vidyalayas are being run in the state. Under the pilot project, smart classrooms have been started in Nidori (Ghaziabad), Badnaura (Bulandshahr), Hastinapur (Meerut), Bareilly and Pilibhit. These classrooms are equipped with smart boards, smart panels, two air conditioners and wooden flooring.

Technology to open doors for talent

Minister of State Asim Arun said smart classrooms are not merely an initiative to change the way students study, but an effort to give a new direction to their future. He said the objective is to ensure that every student is connected to modern technology and quality education and is prepared for the competitive challenges ahead. First Origin Managing Director Anuj Kumar Verma said that in the second phase, smart classrooms and online education would be expanded to the remaining selected schools.
