Divisional Review of Development Works and Revenue Collection Held on CM Dashboard

Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal Directs Officials to Ensure 100% Achievement of Revenue Targets

Gonda: A divisional review meeting on the progress of development works and tax and non-tax revenue collection, as reflected on the Chief Minister’s Dashboard, was held under the chairmanship of Devipatan Divisional Commissioner Durga Shakti Nagpal.

The meeting reviewed development schemes, ongoing construction projects and department-wise revenue collection across the four districts of the Devipatan Division — Gonda, Bahraich, Shravasti and Balrampur.

Reviewing the progress of various programmes displayed on the CM Dashboard, Commissioner Nagpal directed officials to ensure timely and quality implementation of all schemes in accordance with government priorities. Departments showing comparatively slow progress were asked to prepare special action plans and take effective measures to improve their performance.

She stressed the importance of regularly monitoring departmental performance and ensuring that data on the CM Dashboard is updated on time. Officials were instructed to ensure the desired progress in all priority schemes of the government.

The Commissioner also directed that beneficiaries under welfare schemes be selected transparently and that eligible people receive benefits within the prescribed timeframe. Public grievances should be resolved promptly and qualitatively, with no case being unnecessarily kept pending.

Focus on Timely Completion of Development Projects

During a comparative review of development and revenue performance in all four districts, Nagpal called for better coordination and teamwork among officials. She said the primary responsibility of the administration was to accelerate development programmes and ensure that maximum benefits reach the public.

She warned that negligence at any level in development works would not be tolerated. Officials were instructed to prevent unnecessary delays and ensure timely delivery of scheme benefits to eligible beneficiaries.

Reviewing ongoing construction projects, the Commissioner directed officials to complete all projects within the stipulated timelines without compromising on quality. Concerned officers were asked to conduct regular field inspections to monitor construction progress, quality and the materials being used.

She also directed that completed projects be handed over promptly to the concerned user departments so that they could be made available for public use.

One Lakh Foldable Study Tables to Be Distributed

Commissioner Nagpal directed officials to ensure 100 per cent distribution of foldable study tables to students and warned against any laxity in the distribution process.

She instructed all divisional officers to regularly review departmental progress and continuously monitor reports received from the districts. Officials were also asked to undertake periodic field visits and on-site inspections to assess the actual status of schemes.

She stressed that problems and complaints identified during field visits should be resolved in a timely and qualitative manner.

The Commissioner specifically directed officials to give priority to public grievances related to health, education and women, ensuring their sensitive and effective resolution.

Revenue Collection Reviewed

The meeting also included a detailed review of tax and non-tax revenue collection. Nagpal sought updates from departments including Commercial/State Tax, Stamp and Registration, Excise, Transport, Mining, Electricity and Urban Local Bodies, among others.

She directed officials to make sustained efforts to achieve 100 per cent of the prescribed revenue targets. Effective action should be taken against major defaulters in accordance with rules to recover outstanding revenue.

Departments recording low achievement against their targets were instructed to launch special drives to accelerate revenue collection and conduct regular department-wise reviews.

The Commissioner also directed officials to undertake inspections and enforcement action as per the rules to prevent tax evasion and revenue leakage. She emphasised that no laxity would be tolerated in revenue collection.

Chief Development Officers of all four districts, divisional officers, district-level officials and other senior officials attended the review meeting.
