Lucknow: A seminar was organised at the Information Directorate in Lucknow on Thursday on the eve of the birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. The programme was organised under the banner of the State Headquarters Accredited Journalists Association.
The event began with floral tributes to Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya. Chief Guest and Information Director Vishal Singh described Upadhyaya’s life as an exemplary account of simplicity, sacrifice and service to the nation. He said his philosophy of Integral Humanism and Antyodaya provided a distinctive direction to Indian political thought, with emphasis on ensuring that development reaches the last person in society.
Singh said welfare initiatives under Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Centre and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Uttar Pradesh were aimed at advancing the principle of Antyodaya. He cited schemes such as Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana and Ayushman Bharat in this context.
He emphasised the Information Department’s responsibility to communicate government schemes and the spirit of Antyodaya to the public. He urged officers and employees to discharge their duties with sincerity and integrity.
Additional Director Arvind Kumar Mishra also highlighted Upadhyaya’s contribution and said his philosophy continues to serve as a source of inspiration.
Outstanding-performing employees of the department were felicitated during the programme. Earlier, Association President Qatil Sheikh and Patron Abdul Waheed presented bouquets and mementoes to the Information Director, while Dr Sultan Shakir Hashmi and Zubair Ahmed honoured the Additional Information Director.
The programme was chaired by Dr Pawan Putra Badal. Senior Finance and Accounts Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh, Assistant Director Satish Bharti, Dr Jitendra Pratap Singh, Chandra Mohan, Amit Kumar Yadav, Prabhat Srivastava and other officials and employees of the Information Directorate attended the event.
