Bareilly: Students of the University Cultural Centre of Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University, Bareilly, have once again brought laurels to the institution by winning the rolling trophy, or Chal Vaijayanti, for the second consecutive year at the Senior Category Debate Competition organised by the Shri Ram Murti Smarak Trust, Bareilly.
The debate focused on the topic “Cyber Warfare: The New Weapon of Future Conflicts.” University students delivered strong performances in both the ‘for’ and ‘against’ categories. Abhay secured first place in the ‘for’ category, while Lavi won third place in the ‘against’ category. The university remained at the forefront across the participating groups and categories, earning the overall rolling trophy.
The university had participated in the competition for the first time in 2025, securing second place in the ‘against’ category and third place in the ‘for’ category and winning the trophy. The Cultural Centre’s Cultural Club students repeated the achievement in 2026.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Anil Kumar Rai congratulated the winners, describing the consecutive victory as a matter of great pride. He said debate competitions strengthen logical thinking, confidence, communication skills and awareness of contemporary issues.
Cultural Coordinator Dr Jyoti Pandey said the trophy will be formally presented to the University Cultural Centre during a Gandhi Jayanti ceremony organised by the Trust on October 2, 2026.
University officials, faculty members, Cultural Club members and students congratulated the participants on their achievement.
