The transfers involve officers from the rank of Director General of Police (DGP) to Inspector General (IG), and are being viewed as part of the state government’s effort to strengthen policing efficiency and streamline administrative functioning.
Among the major changes, Jai Narayan Singh, a 1994-batch IPS officer, has been appointed Director General of the Economic Offences Wing (EOW), Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. He was previously serving as Director General/Additional Director General at Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited.
Another prominent transfer includes Dhruv Kant Thakur, also from the 1994 batch, who has been posted as Director General and Commandant General of Home Guards, Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow. He will continue to hold additional charge of Civil Defence.
The government has also expanded the responsibilities of A Satish Ganesh, presently serving as Additional Director General of Traffic and Road Safety. Along with his existing role, he has now been given additional charge as ADG Crime, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the official transfer list, Alok Singh has been shifted from Kanpur Zone to PAC Headquarters in Lucknow with additional charge of the Special Security Force, while Anupam Kulshreshtha has been appointed the new ADG of Kanpur Zone.
Meanwhile, S K Bhagat has been transferred as ADG, Agra Zone, replacing senior officials moved in the latest reshuffle.

The reshuffle comes at a time when the state government is focusing on law and order management, cyber crime control, emergency response systems and strengthening regional policing networks across Uttar Pradesh.
