Lucknow: The Lok Dal has accused the state government of celebrating eight years in power to hide its failures, stating that during this period, the administration has done nothing but spread hatred in the name of religion. Lok Dal’s National President, Chaudhary Sunil Singh, expressed strong criticism, alleging that the BJP-led government has overseen a rise in unemployment, corruption, crimes against women, migration, illegal mining, inflation, and a breakdown of law and order.
Sunil Singh claimed that instead of addressing these pressing issues, the government is wasting public money on grand celebrations. “For eight years, the public has been deceived with empty promises while governance and development have deteriorated. The crime rate has surged, with rising cases of murder, rape, kidnapping, and other serious offenses. Women, Dalits, and marginalized communities have suffered increased atrocities. The state’s economy is in crisis, and corruption in government recruitments, including exam paper leaks, has jeopardized the future of the youth,” he stated.
Economic and Social Crisis
The Lok Dal leader pointed out that small and medium-scale traders are struggling due to flawed government policies, pushing them into financial distress. Public healthcare remains inadequate, forcing people to rely on expensive private hospitals. Farmers are not getting fair prices for their produce, and sugarcane farmers’ dues remain unpaid. “Despite conducting multiple investor summits and signing MoUs, the government has failed to generate real employment opportunities. These summits were mere publicity stunts,” Singh said.
He further alleged that inflation has made daily life unbearable for the common man, yet the government remains indifferent. “Instead of addressing public grievances, the government is engaged in extravagant celebrations while people suffer. The administration should visit villages, hold public meetings, and acknowledge its failures rather than misleading citizens with false narratives of development,” he asserted.
Religious Polarization and Unfulfilled Promises
According to Sunil Singh, the BJP government has done nothing but incite communal hatred. “For eight years, they have exploited Hindu-Muslim sentiments for political gain, dividing society instead of fostering unity and development. There is a stark contrast between the BJP’s promises and actions. The people of the state had entrusted the party with governance, expecting it to fulfill commitments. However, citizens now feel betrayed as corruption, inflation, and unemployment reach alarming levels. The so-called ‘Ram Rajya’ that the BJP boasts about has become a nightmare of crime, corruption, and economic turmoil,” he remarked.
Singh called upon the government to conduct public meetings across the state to hear firsthand accounts of its failures. “The government must engage with citizens and answer for the worsening living conditions. Instead of hosting grand festivities, they should address real issues like law and order, employment, and economic stability. The last eight years have been nothing but a disaster for the state, and the people deserve accountability,” he concluded.
