Victim Allegedly Drugged, Abducted and Kept Hostage; Mobile Phone and SIM Cards Recovered
Lucknow: The Saerpur Police team has arrested an accused involved in a serious criminal case in which a woman was allegedly drugged, abducted, held hostage, and sexually assaulted.
According to police officials, the incident came to light on May 30, 2026, when the victim lodged a complaint at Saerpur Police Station alleging that Manzoor Ali, son of Sabir Ali, administered a narcotic substance to her, after which she was abducted and confined against her will. She further alleged that she was sexually assaulted and unlawfully detained with the involvement of other individuals.
Based on the complaint, a case was registered at Saerpur Police Station under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, and investigation was taken over by Station House Officer Manoj Kumar Kori.
Given the seriousness of the allegations, the victim’s medical examination was conducted immediately, and her statement was recorded under legal provisions. Police officials constituted special teams under the direction of senior officers to trace and arrest the accused involved in the case.
Acting on a tip-off from an informant, the police team successfully arrested the named accused Manzoor Ali (age details not specified) on May 31, 2026 at around 10:00 PM from Shiv Colony Road in Lakhimpur Kheri district.
The accused, originally a resident of Village Mahngukheda under Lakhimpur Kheri district, was currently residing at Shiv Colony Road, Lakhimpur Kheri. He has been taken into custody and further legal proceedings are underway.

Police said that efforts are being made to gather information about his previous criminal record by coordinating with other police stations and districts.
Recovered Items
During the arrest, police recovered a mobile phone of Redmi brand (purple colour) along with four SIM cards from the possession of the accused.

The arrest and recovery operation was carried out by a team led by Station House Officer Manoj Kumar Kori, along with Sub-Inspector Ramdev, Sub-Inspector Anurag Goswami, Constable Dilip Dwivedi, and Woman Constable Varsha Tomar.
Police officials stated that further investigation is ongoing and strict legal action will be taken against all individuals found involved in the case.
