Gonda: In a bid to strengthen road safety and improve traffic management, the Transport Department, in coordination with the Police Administration, carried out a joint enforcement drive at Karnailganj Chauraha and Bargadi Mod Chauraha in Gonda district.
During the campaign, officials conducted intensive checking against vehicles operating without valid permits, overloading, and other traffic violations. Vehicle documents including permits, fitness certificates, insurance papers, pollution certificates, and driving licenses were thoroughly verified.
Several vehicles were found operating without valid permits, following which challans and legal action were initiated under the Motor Vehicles Act. Drivers violating traffic norms were also advised to follow safety measures such as wearing helmets, using seat belts, and maintaining speed limits.
ARTO (Administration) R.C. Bhartiya said the campaign has helped increase awareness about traffic rules and encouraged responsible driving among vehicle owners.
