Bareilly: A major step towards improving rural connectivity was taken on Saturday as Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cooperation and District In-Charge Minister of Bareilly, J.P.S. Rathore, formally inaugurated the construction of a bridge over the canal at Narharpur Gauri Kheda village in Nawabganj tehsil through a traditional foundation-laying ceremony.
Addressing local residents and officials on the occasion, Rathore said that the state government remains committed to strengthening infrastructure and improving basic amenities in rural areas. He noted that the proposed bridge would significantly ease transportation for villagers and provide relief from the difficulties faced during the monsoon season when movement across the canal becomes challenging.
The minister emphasized that the project would not only enhance connectivity but also contribute to the overall socio-economic development of the region by facilitating smoother access to markets, educational institutions, healthcare facilities, and other essential services.
Rathore directed concerned officials to ensure that the construction work is completed within the stipulated timeframe while maintaining the highest quality standards so that local residents can benefit from the project at the earliest.
Several public representatives and dignitaries attended the ceremony, including Member of Parliament Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, District Panchayat Chairperson Rashmi Patel, Legislative Council members Kunwar Maharaj Singh and Jaipal Singh Vyas, Nawabganj MLA Dr. M. P. Arya, district party leaders, officials from the bridge construction corporation, and local residents.
The bridge project is expected to improve year-round accessibility and support development initiatives in the surrounding villages of the Nawabganj region.
