Campus Placement Drive Organised at Amity University Lucknow

Lucknow: To familiarise students with the job interview process and provide them with practical exposure to selection procedure, the Amity School of Hospitality (ASH), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, organised a campus placement drive today for final-year students of MBA, Bachelor of Hotel Management (BHM) and BBA (Tourism Management) programmes.

The one-day programme provided students with practical insights into various stages of the corporate recruitment process and an opportunity to understand the skills, competencies and professional attributes expected in the hospitality industry. The programme commenced with a formal welcome ceremony for the Oberoi Group representative and attended by faculty members, student coordinators and final-year students.

On the occasion, Dr. Ankit Chadha, Director, Amity School of Hospitality, welcomed the representatives of The Oberoi Group and emphasised the importance of providing students with practical, industry-oriented exposure in the hospitality sector. He highlighted that familiarising students with evolving industry requirements and workplace expectations, alongside academic learning, plays an important role in their overall professional development.

Robin Bharadwaj (Manager – HR),  Gregory Gomes (Deputy Manager – HR),  Sidhant Bose (Front Office Manager), Kavya Balan (HR Supervisor),  Isha Kanwal (HR Associate), and Ishan Sahai, Food & Beverage Manager from the Oberoi Group interacted with the students and shared insights into the nature of work in the hospitality sector, professional expectations, workplace responsibilities and essential skills. A pre-placement presentation was also delivered, covering various aspects of the recruitment process and professional opportunities in the hospitality industry.

The recruitment drive will seek to onboard final-year students from the MBA, BHM, and BBA (Tourism Management) programmes for both management positions under the Oberoi Centre of Learning and Development (OCLD) and entry-level roles under the Oberoi Centre for Excellence and Recruitment (OCER) across Sales & Marketing, Customer/Guest Service Management, and various operational departments.

This was followed by an interactive question-and-answer session, during which students raised questions related to different roles, job responsibilities, workplace expectations and the selection process. The interaction enabled students to gain a better understanding of the professional environment and the competencies required to pursue careers in the hospitality sector.

The programme was coordinated by faculty members Dr. Dharna Shukla and Dr. Nishi Priya. The campus placement drive served as a valuable experiential learning opportunity, enabling students to gain first-hand exposure to professional recruitment practices, assess their preparedness and develop a better understanding of the expectations of the hospitality industry.
