LUCKNOW: The three-day Council of Architecture (CoA) Zone 1 Jury Awards 2026 commenced with grandeur at Amity School of Architecture and Planning (ASAP), Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus. The prestigious event has brought together eminent architects, distinguished jury members, academicians, faculty members and talented architecture students from various institutions across CoA Zone 1.
The first day of the event featured a special exhibition showcasing outstanding entries received for the national-level competitions. Chief Guest Architect Gauri Nitin Shiurkar and Wg. Cdr. Prof. (Dr.) Anil Kumar Tiwari, Dy. Pro Vice-Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, inaugurated the exhibition by cutting the ribbon. The exhibition features innovative architectural concepts, creative designs and outstanding academic works submitted by students from across the country.

The inaugural event was attended by Prof. Jagbir Singh, Director, Amity School of Architecture and Planning; CoA Jury Member Prof. B. Suresh; Architect Tanushree Mokde; Architect Aniruddha Paul; CoA Awards Committee members Architect Bhavana Vimawala, Architect Rama Subramaniam and Architect Jayshree Deshpande, along with Directors and Heads of various institutes and departments of Amity University, eminent architects from Lucknow and other distinguished guests.
The exhibition provides an insight into the creative thinking, innovative design approaches, technical skills and architectural sensitivity of the participating students. The diverse works on display highlight emerging talent in the field of architecture and reflect evolving design ideas and contemporary approaches to architectural education.
Organised by the Council of Architecture, the prestigious event provides a national platform to recognise and celebrate excellence among students pursuing architectural education. Faculty members and outstanding students from leading architecture institutions are participating in the event, presenting their ideas, designs and creative works before distinguished experts from the profession and academia.

The CoA Zone 1 Jury Awards 2026 comprise three major award categories: Council of Architecture Awards for Excellence in Architectural Thesis (AEAT), JK AYA Best Architecture Student of the Year Award, and Students’ Awards for Excellence in Documentation of Architectural Heritage (DAH). The awards seek to encourage innovative design thinking, academic excellence, research and creativity among architecture students, while also promoting awareness about the documentation and conservation of India’s rich architectural heritage.
On the second day, August 20, the expert jury will conduct a closed-door session for the selection and evaluation of the Top 10 finalists. The exhibition of outstanding architectural heritage documentation projects will continue simultaneously.
The three-day academic and architectural festival will culminate on August 21 with a Public Jury of the Top 10 finalists, followed by the final awards and felicitation ceremony. The concluding day will provide an opportunity for meaningful interaction among eminent architects, academicians and students, with discussions focusing on emerging trends in architecture, innovative design concepts and the future of architectural leadership.
