Bareilly: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cooperation and District In-Charge Minister of Bareilly, J.P.S. Rathore, said on Saturday that the past 12 years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been a historic period of trust, development, and public welfare that has transformed India’s trajectory and strengthened public confidence in governance.
Addressing a press conference at the Circuit House in Bareilly, Rathore stated that the people of India have repeatedly demonstrated their faith in a government that prioritizes national interest and public service. He described the period since 2014 as a remarkable journey marked by decisive leadership, welfare-oriented policies, and direct engagement with citizens.
According to Rathore, the Modi government’s first term from 2014 to 2019 focused primarily on public welfare through initiatives such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi, Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, free food grain distribution, and Ayushman Bharat. He said these schemes significantly improved the lives of millions of citizens, particularly the poor, farmers, women, and marginalized communities.
Highlighting achievements from 2019 onwards, Rathore said the government worked to fulfil public aspirations through measures including the abolition of Triple Talaq, tax relief for middle-income groups, infrastructure expansion, industrial growth through expressways, and strengthened law and order. He noted that women’s safety, economic empowerment, and citizen welfare have remained central to government policies.
The minister emphasized that India has emerged as the world’s fourth-largest economy and is moving steadily toward becoming the third-largest economic power. He cited major achievements in infrastructure, including rapid highway construction, modernization of the railway network, expansion of airports, and the success of digital payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI).
Rathore also highlighted the impact of welfare schemes, stating that DBT and Aadhaar-based authentication have improved transparency and eliminated fake beneficiaries, leading to substantial savings for the government. He pointed to the success of initiatives such as PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, PM Kisan, Ayushman Bharat, PM Awas Yojana, PM Surya Ghar Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, Ujjwala Yojana, Sukanya Samriddhi Yojana, and Lakhpati Didi as examples of inclusive development.

Speaking about Bareilly district, he noted several development projects undertaken in recent years, including the Nath Corridor project, development of Lilaur Lake in Aonla as a tourism destination, establishment of the Atal Residential School in Nawabganj, construction of a Mega Food Park in Baheri, and the proposed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Employment Zone in Nawabganj.
Rathore also congratulated local students for their academic achievements, mentioning CBSE topper Manvi Patel and ICSE topper Ranjana Parashar for bringing laurels to the district.
He concluded by saying that the Modi government’s 12-year tenure represents more than a record of schemes and achievements; it reflects a historic journey toward realizing the vision of a developed India. Built on the pillars of good governance, digital transformation, women’s empowerment, farmer welfare, and inclusive growth, India today is moving forward with confidence toward the goal of becoming a developed nation by 2047.
Among those present at the press conference were Bareilly MP Chhatrapal Singh Gangwar, District Panchayat Chairperson Rashmi Patel, MLCs Bahoran Lal Maurya, Jaipal Singh Vyas and Kunwar Maharaj Singh, along with legislators and senior BJP leaders from the district.
