MJPRU Bareilly Begins Admissions for B.Sc. Agriculture and M.Sc. Agriculture Programmes

Bareilly, May 26, 2026: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University has officially started the admission process for its B.Sc. Agriculture and M.Sc. Agriculture programmes for the academic session 2026–27. Interested and eligible students can apply online through the university’s official website, MJPRU Official Website.

The university’s Faculty of Agriculture, which launched its first batch in the 2025–26 session, is currently conducting second-semester examinations for both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Prof. Upendra Kumar, said that the faculty was established on the university campus a year ago and is already offering postgraduate courses in Agronomy, Horticulture, and Genetics & Plant Breeding. From the 2026–27 academic session, new postgraduate programmes in Entomology and Plant Pathology will also be introduced.

Highlighting the importance of the faculty in western Uttar Pradesh, Prof. Kumar noted that no university campus within a 200-kilometre radius of Bareilly currently offers agriculture faculty classes, making this a major opportunity for students from Bareilly and neighbouring districts. He added that the university follows a “learning by doing” approach, combining classroom teaching with hands-on crop production training at the university’s agricultural farm.

Eligibility and Fee Structure

For admission to the eight-semester B.Sc. Agriculture programme, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Agriculture Science or Physics and Chemistry along with Biology or Mathematics. Admissions will be granted on the basis of merit.

The annual fee has been fixed at ₹40,000 for B.Sc. Agriculture and ₹50,000 for M.Sc. Agriculture programmes.

Strong Career Prospects in Agriculture Sector

The university stated that B.Sc. Agriculture is a professional course with growing demand among science students interested in government jobs, agribusiness, and allied sectors. Graduates and postgraduates in agriculture have opportunities in research, teaching, banking, NABARD, FCI, state agriculture departments, fertiliser and seed companies, food processing industries, dairy farming, and horticulture sectors.

Students can also pursue careers as Agriculture Officers, District Agriculture Officers, Horticulture Officers, Sugarcane Officers, and researchers in both public and private sectors.

Vice-Chancellor Prof. K. P. Singh encouraged aspiring students to apply within the stipulated time. He said agriculture remains the backbone of the Indian economy and that the university is committed to preparing skilled agricultural professionals through modern technology and practical education.
