Gonda: Amid the growing incidence of diabetes among young people, a special medical workshop was organised for private practitioners and members of the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) in Gonda. The awareness programme was hosted at Golden Fairy Resorts on Lucknow Road by Ved Foundation founders Dr. Sanjay Tripathi and Dr. Sushma Tripathi with the aim of spreading awareness about diabetes and modern healthcare practices.
Doctors from Gonda and Balrampur districts participated in the workshop and discussed the rising health challenges linked to lifestyle diseases.
Senior physician Dr. Sanjay Tripathi (MD Medicine) delivered a detailed session on the causes, symptoms, prevention, and modern treatment methods for diabetes. He expressed concern over the rapid rise of diabetes cases among the youth, attributing it to irregular lifestyles, stress, and unhealthy eating habits.
“Diabetes is increasing rapidly among young people due to changing lifestyles and poor dietary habits. This is becoming a major public health concern,” Dr. Tripathi said during the workshop.
Dr. Sushma Tripathi provided detailed information about various blood tests used for diagnosing and monitoring diabetes.
Gynaecologist Dr. Anju Agrawal highlighted the risks associated with diabetes during pregnancy. She explained that uncontrolled blood sugar levels during pregnancy could adversely affect both mother and child, stressing the importance of regular check-ups and a balanced lifestyle.

The event was conducted by laparoscopic surgeon Dr. Alok Agrawal, while senior cardiologist Dr. Pankaj Kumar Srivastava spoke about the close link between diabetes and heart diseases. He noted that uncontrolled diabetes has become a significant contributor to cardiovascular complications, making early diagnosis and treatment crucial.
During the interactive session, doctors exchanged views on diabetes management, lifestyle modifications, and advancements in treatment approaches.
In her vote of thanks, Dr. Sushma Tripathi said the workshop was aimed at creating awareness about the growing diabetes burden in society while also updating medical professionals with the latest information and treatment practices.
The programme saw participation from nearly 50 doctors, including NIMA president Dr. Mahmood Alam, secretary Dr. Prabhat Ranjan, NIMA Balrampur president Dr. Zuber Ahmad, Dr. Devesh Srivastava, Dr. Mohammad Arif Khan, and several other healthcare professionals.
