Gonda: In a significant step to enhance disaster response in flood-prone areas, the district administration flagged off a special relief and rescue vehicle, “Hanuman Rath,” to improve emergency operations in villages affected by rising floodwaters, including Aeliparsauli in Tarabganj tehsil and surrounding areas.
The vehicle was jointly flagged off by Tarabganj MLA Prem Narayan Pandey, Gonda Sadar MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan, and MLC Manju Singh, along with other public representatives and senior officials.
Designed to operate during flood emergencies, the Hanuman Rath will help deliver essential relief supplies such as food grains, drinking water, medicines, and other necessities to marooned villages where conventional vehicles are unable to reach due to extensive waterlogging. It will also be deployed for rescue operations to evacuate stranded residents to safer locations.
Officials said the vehicle would significantly strengthen the administration’s disaster management efforts by ensuring quicker access to remote flood-affected communities. The Hanuman Rath has been provided by Gonda Sadar MLA Prateek Bhushan Singh to support the district administration’s relief initiatives.

Speaking on the occasion, public representatives and officials emphasized that timely relief and efficient rescue operations remain the administration’s highest priority during natural disasters. They expressed confidence that the dedicated vehicle would accelerate emergency response, improve accessibility to vulnerable areas, and provide faster assistance to people affected by floods.
The launch ceremony was attended by the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Tarabganj, the Block Pramukh of Belsar, the Chairperson of Nawabganj Municipality, the Block Development Officer of Belsar, officials from various departments, and other public representatives.
