Bareilly: The Finance Committee meeting of M.J.P. Rohilkhand University was held at the Committee Room of the Vice-Chancellor’s Office, where several important decisions aimed at promoting student welfare, academic growth, and financial accessibility were approved.
The meeting was chaired by Vice-Chancellor Professor K.P. Singh. Keeping in view the academic session 2026-27, the committee focused on initiatives for the overall development of students and approved a series of significant measures.
Fee Structure Finalised for New Business Management Courses
The committee approved the fee structure for nine new employment-oriented courses proposed by the Department of Business Management in accordance with government guidelines. These courses have been designed around contemporary industry requirements and include areas such as banking, retail, logistics, healthcare, tourism, and hospitality.
The new programmes aim to equip students with practical knowledge and skills required to meet challenges in the professional world.
Reduction in BMC Annual Fee Provides Relief to Students
In a student-friendly decision, the committee reduced the annual fee of the existing undergraduate programme BMC (Bachelor of Management Studies) offered by the Department of Business Administration.
The annual fee, which was earlier ₹50,000, has now been reduced to ₹40,000 from the academic session 2026-27. The move aims to bring greater affordability and maintain uniformity with other undergraduate programmes.
Fees Fixed for External Users of Sports Facilities
To encourage sports participation among people outside the university, the committee approved a fee structure for the use of various sports facilities, including the athletic track, badminton court, table tennis court, shooting range, boxing ring, and basketball court.
The initiative is expected to provide students as well as the general public with access to quality sports infrastructure and promote physical fitness and a healthy competitive environment.
Major Initiative in Artificial Intelligence Education
In a significant step towards technology-driven education, the university approved a budget provision of ₹5 crore for the effective implementation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching, training, and research activities in the coming years.
The initiative is aimed at strengthening digital education and preparing students with advanced technological skills required for future opportunities.
Approval for B.P.E.S. Physical Education Programme Fees
The committee also approved the proposed fee structure for the Bachelor of Physical Education and Sports (B.P.E.S.) programme for the academic session 2026-27, as presented by Dr Sandeep Kumar, Head of the Department of Physical Education, in accordance with government norms.
Addressing the meeting, Vice-Chancellor Professor K.P. Singh said that the university remains committed to the overall development and financial interests of its students. He stated that the decisions taken during the meeting reflect this commitment.
He added that the ₹5 crore investment in Artificial Intelligence will provide the university with a new identity in the field of technical education and help students gain expertise in modern technologies along with traditional knowledge.
The Vice-Chancellor further said that opening sports facilities for external users at a structured fee will help create a healthy and competitive environment, and the university administration will continue taking decisions in the interest of students, society, and the nation.
