Bareilly: SRMS Riddhima organised the second edition of its instrumental music programme, Rainbow-2, on Sunday evening, bringing together faculty members and music enthusiasts for a captivating celebration of Indian classical and contemporary music.
The programme featured instrumental faculty members showcasing their artistry through a series of performances based on different ragas, while vocal mentors complemented the presentations with soulful accompaniment.
The evening commenced with “Kailash Ki Goonj”, a fusion based on Raga Yaman, invoking the divine presence of Lord Shiva. The ensemble included Suryakant Chaudhary (violin), Deepakant Johri and Amar Nath (tabla), Rishabh Ashish Pathak (pakhawaj), Seema (sitar), Pawan Bhardwaj (harmonium), Anugrah Singh (drums), Vishesh Singh (drums), Derek Aman James (keyboard), Roy Phillips (saxophone), Surendra (percussion) and Janardan (flute). Vocalists Priyanka Gwal and Satvik Mishra added depth to the devotional composition.
The second performance, “The Golden Notes,” blended Western instrumental harmonies, highlighting precision, coordination and artistic excellence. This was followed by “The Champions Anthem Medley,” featuring energetic renditions of internationally acclaimed inspirational anthems that captivated the audience.
The evening concluded with “The Spark of Lord Shiva,” a powerful musical tribute combining devotion and energy through the resonant beats of the damru, the spirit of Shiva’s Tandava and a message of peace. The vocal faculty enhanced the finale with melodious alaaps.
The programme was anchored by Deepali Saxena. Among those present were SRMS Trust Founder and Chairman Dev Murti, Aditya Murti, Asha Murti, Richa Murti, Devisha Murti, Usha Gupta, Dr Rajni Agrawal, Subhash Mehra, Dr M.S. Butola, Dr Prabhakar Gupta, Dr Anuj Kumar, Dr Shailesh Saxena, Dr Rita Sharma, along with prominent music lovers from the city.
