Massive Blood Donation Camp Organized at SCPM Group on World Blood Donor Day

Gonda: Marking World Blood Donor Day, SCPM Group of Hospitals and Education organized a large-scale voluntary blood donation camp aimed at promoting awareness about the life-saving importance of blood donation and encouraging greater community participation in humanitarian causes.

The event was held under the guidance and inspiration of the institution’s Chairman, Dr. O. N. Pandey, and was formally inaugurated by SCPM Group President Alka Pandey.

Demonstrating leadership by example, SCPM Group Director Ajitabh Dubey voluntarily donated blood and urged students, faculty members, and staff to participate in the noble cause. Inspired by his appeal, a large number of students, teachers, and employees came forward to donate blood, reaffirming their commitment to social responsibility and community service.

The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from various constituent institutions, including SCPM Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital, SCPM College of Nursing, SCPM College of Allied & Healthcare, SCPM College of Pharmacy, and SCPM Hospital. Students and employees from these institutions actively participated in voluntary blood donation and helped spread a positive message about the importance of saving lives through blood donation.

Several senior officials and faculty members attended the event, including Administrator Dhiraj Kumar Dubey, principals, vice-principals, department heads, medical and paramedical faculty members, as well as teaching and non-teaching staff, all of whom contributed to the successful conduct of the programme.

A crucial role in organizing and managing the blood donation drive was played by the blood bank team of SCPM Hospital under the supervision of Blood Bank In-Charge Dr. K. K. Mishra. The team efficiently handled blood collection and related technical arrangements. The presence and support of the Medical Superintendent, Deputy Medical Superintendent, and medical professionals from SCPM Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital further strengthened the initiative.

Addressing the gathering, speakers emphasized that blood donation is among the most valuable acts of humanitarian service. They noted that a single unit of donated blood can save or significantly improve the life of a critically ill patient. Blood donation, they said, is not only a social responsibility but also a powerful means of protecting and preserving human life.

At the conclusion of the event, organizers expressed gratitude to all donors and appealed to the public to participate regularly in voluntary blood donation drives.

The programme concluded with the message that “Blood donation is the greatest donation—your single unit of blood can become a new hope for someone’s life,” reinforcing the spirit of compassion and community service that defines World Blood Donor Day.
