Mathura/Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Basic Education, Sandeep Singh, said on Saturday that the past 12 years of the Central Government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi have been dedicated to service, good governance, and public welfare, laying a strong foundation for the vision of a developed India.
Speaking at a media interaction programme held in Mathura as part of the nationwide campaign, “12 Years of Trust, Development and Public Welfare,” the minister highlighted key achievements of the Central Government in the areas of welfare delivery, digital transformation, women’s empowerment, farmer welfare, healthcare, and inclusive development.
Sandeep Singh stated that the vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas” has been translated into reality through a range of citizen-centric initiatives. He noted that the adoption of Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) and Aadhaar-enabled systems has enhanced transparency and ensured that government benefits reach eligible beneficiaries directly. According to the minister, these measures have helped eliminate fraudulent beneficiaries and generated substantial savings in public expenditure.
Highlighting welfare initiatives, he said that the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana has provided free food grains to more than 81 crore citizens, while the Jan Dhan Yojana has facilitated the opening of over 58 crore bank accounts, including more than 32 crore accounts held by women. He also pointed to the success of the Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana, which has enabled millions of entrepreneurs and young people to access financial support for self-employment.
The minister emphasized that under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, eligible farmers receive direct financial assistance annually, strengthening the agricultural sector and improving rural livelihoods. He added that the expansion of the Kisan Credit Card programme has further improved access to affordable agricultural credit.
Referring to healthcare reforms, Singh said that the Ayushman Bharat programme has provided health insurance coverage to millions of economically weaker families, while the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has helped provide permanent housing to millions of beneficiaries across the country. He also highlighted the impact of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana, which has expanded access to clean cooking fuel for women from low-income households.

Discussing digital transformation, the minister said that the Digital India initiative has accelerated the country’s development journey. Broadband connectivity has been extended to a large number of gram panchayats through the BharatNet project, while digital monitoring systems have improved transparency and accountability in the implementation of government programmes. He noted that the Government e-Marketplace (GeM) has streamlined and modernized public procurement processes.
The minister also highlighted progress in healthcare and sanitation, including the expansion of medical infrastructure, immunization drives under Mission Indradhanush, construction of toilets under the Swachh Bharat Mission, and the provision of drinking water connections through the Jal Jeevan Mission.
Speaking about Mathura district, Singh said that several government schemes have benefited local residents, including the PM-Kisan programme, housing schemes, PM SVANidhi, Ayushman Bharat, Kanya Sumangala Yojana, Jan Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, and pension programmes. He noted that lakhs of beneficiaries in the district have received support through these initiatives, contributing to improved living standards and social welfare.
He described the last 12 years as more than a record of achievements, calling them a historic journey toward realizing the vision of a developed India. According to the minister, the combined focus on welfare, empowerment, digital governance, and inclusive growth has strengthened the nation’s progress toward becoming a developed country.
The programme was attended by Rajya Sabha MP Tejveer Singh, Mathura Mayor Vinod Agarwal, public representatives, party office-bearers, and media professionals.
