Lucknow: Medanta Lucknow organised a special meet-and-greet programme for patients and their families on the occasion of World Heart Day, providing an opportunity to interact directly with cardiac specialists and seek information about heart disease, its symptoms, prevention and treatment.
Medanta Lucknow Director of Cardiac Surgery Dr Gouranga Majumdar, Director of Clinical and Preventive Cardiology Dr R.K. Saran, and Directors of Interventional Cardiology Dr S.K. Dwivedi, Dr P.K. Goyal and Dr Mahim Saran interacted with participants and answered their questions.

The doctors explained various treatment options, including open-heart surgery, minimally invasive procedures and catheter-based interventions. They also discussed the circumstances in which different procedures may be required and explained the treatments in simple terms.
Medanta Hospital Medical Director Dr Rakesh Kapoor spoke about the importance of recognising early warning signs of heart disease. He said symptoms such as chest pain or heaviness, breathing difficulty, sudden excessive sweating, fatigue and uneasiness should not be ignored and advised people to seek timely medical consultation when such symptoms occur.

Dr Kapoor also highlighted the role of healthy eating, regular exercise, weight management and periodic health check-ups in maintaining heart health.
During the programme, patients and their family members raised questions about prevention, symptoms and treatment of cardiac diseases and received guidance from the doctors.
