Lucknow: The second edition of the Loreto Convent Model United Nations (LCMUN) commenced on October 9, 2026, bringing together 300 delegates from 11 schools across the city for two days of spirited debates, diplomatic negotiations and collaborative problem-solving. The conference highlighted the importance of dialogue, critical thinking and consensus-building in addressing complex global and national challenges.
The event opened with a formal inaugural ceremony, during which the Secretariat welcomed Chief Guest Dr Surabhi Modi Sahai, the President of the Loreto Alumnae Association, members of the Executive Board and other distinguished guests.

Eight committees — the International Monetary Fund (IMF), United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), United Nations Security Council (UNSC), Lok Sabha, National Security Council of the United States of America (NSCUSA), Congress of Karlowitz, Joint Crisis Committee (JCC) and International Press — began deliberations with agenda-setting sessions, opening statements and the General Speakers’ List.
The second day, October 10, witnessed a shift from debate to action, as delegates responded to emerging crises and worked towards practical solutions. Building on the opening statements and caucuses of the first day, participants developed formal working papers, while negotiating blocs strengthened their positions around common priorities.

The conference provided students with an opportunity to develop leadership, public speaking, negotiation and analytical skills while gaining a deeper understanding of international relations and policymaking.
