Lucknow: The three-day International Roundtable Conference ‘Ed Leadership-2026’, organised by the Global Education and Training Institute, was inaugurated today at the CMS Kanpur Road Auditorium. Being held on the theme ‘Redesigning Schools for the AI Era’, the conference is witnessing the participation of over 1,000 teachers, principals and educationists from across the country. The conference commenced with the traditional lighting of the ceremonial lamp.
On the occasion, CMS Founder-Director Dr. Bharti Gandhi welcomed the participating educationists and emphasised the need for continuous research and innovation in the field of education.

Dr. Sunita Gandhi, Founder of the Global Education and Training Institute and Devi Sansthan and Convenor of the conference, said that greater emphasis needs to be placed on ‘learning’ rather than merely ‘teaching’. She said that unless we change our way of thinking and adopt new approaches to work, we cannot expect different outcomes. She emphasised that an excellent school is one that identifies the potential of every child and nurtures it to the fullest. She also highlighted the importance of building trust and active participation of parents in the educational process.
On the first day of the conference, CMS Aliganj Campus II presented the ‘Random Pairing’ teaching methodology, while City International School, Manas City presented a live classroom demonstration based on the ALFA (Accelerating Learning for All) teaching methodology. These approaches placed special emphasis on collaboration, confidence, communication, experiential learning and active participation of children.

The key attraction of the programme was a roundtable discussion on ‘Unschool the School’, moderated by Samvida Adhikari, Principal, CMS Indira Nagar Campus I. Participating in the discussion, Amrita Burman, President, Good School Alliances; Gaganpreet Sethi, Headmistress, CMS Rajendra Nagar Campus II; Snehil Pinto, Founder-Director, Rayan Group of Institutions; Priya Chhatrawal, Principal, Lumina Terra; and Rachna Srivastava, Founder, Silver Grove School, Varanasi, emphasised the need to provide students with greater opportunities for experience, reflection, dialogue, research and practical learning.
Besides, an Extempore Competition for teachers was organised on the theme ‘One Minute, One Voice’. Ms. Sumita and Ms. Riya presented ‘ALFA Hands of Numeracy’, while teachers of CMS Station Road Campus demonstrated innovative teaching approaches such as ‘Numbers Without Fears’.
Ed Leadership-2026’ will continue on 9 and 10 October, featuring discussions, classroom demonstrations and activities on various educational themes. Awards and honours will also be presented for outstanding contributions and achievements in the field of education.
