Lucknow: Lucknow Development Authority will get 11 major crossings of the city re-modelled at a cost of approximately Rs 10 crore. In this, along with re-designing the rotary and island of the crossings, attractive works of place making will be done. Along with this, illegal encroachment and parking will be removed from around the crossings by shifting the electric poles, booths and traffic signals etc. which are obstructing traffic. Survey work of these crossings has been completed on the instructions of Authority’s Vice President Prathamesh Kumar. Soon the work of development and beautification of the crossings will be started by inviting tenders.
LDA Vice President Prathamesh Kumar said that earlier a survey was conducted of IT crossing, Lokbandhu crossing, AKTU and Atal Tiraha located in Jankipuram, Engineering College crossing and Heinemann crossing located in Gomti Nagar. Based on the suggestions given regarding re-modeling of the crossings, the process of development and beautification work has been started. Apart from this, survey of 11 other crossings of the city including Daliganj, Mawaiya, Alambagh and Krishnanagar has also been done. In which many important suggestions have been given with a view to making the traffic smooth. Now on the basis of the survey report, the work of re-modeling and place making etc. of these crossings will be done. In this, rotary and island will be re-designed at some places. Also, safety measures will be taken as per the standards of IRC (Indian Road Congress). This will keep the traffic smooth at these intersections even during peak hours and the city residents will get great relief from the problem of traffic jam.

Rotary will be built at Narora Junction

Vice Chairman Prathamesh Kumar said that Narora Junction comes upon entering Lucknow city from Agra Expressway. There is a lot of traffic load here. But, due to the absence of a roundabout at the junction, vehicles pass in a haphazard manner, which also poses a threat to security. Keeping this in mind, a rotary will be constructed at the junction. Also, speed tables and rumble strips etc. will be made while expanding the divider. Attractive place making work will be done at the junction so that people have a good feeling on entering the city.

Koneshvar Chauraha: Traffic obstruction will be removed

Temporary booths have been built at Koneshwar Chauraha located at the check. Also, there is illegal parking and encroachment around the intersection, which creates obstruction in traffic. Keeping this in mind, parking and encroachment will be removed through a campaign and security measures will be taken as per the standards of IRC. Apart from this, place making work will be done at the intersection, which will reflect the culture of Awadh.

Daliganj: U-turn for traffic from both sides

The rotary of Daliganj Tiraha will be redesigned. There is a U-turn near the railway overbridge here, from where only one-way traffic can turn. It will be redesigned and developed in such a way that traffic from both sides can take a U-turn. Apart from this, due to the operation of the newly built railway station in Vibhutikhand, the traffic load on Madhurima Tiraha will increase significantly in the future. Keeping this in mind, an island will be developed at the intersection.
