Lucknow: The Agriculture Minister of the state, Surya Pratap Shahi reviewed the works of watershed development component of the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme, rain water harvesting farm pond scheme, ravine improvement works under Pandit Deendayal Kisan Samridhi Yojana at the Agriculture Directorate.
During the review, the Agriculture Minister directed the concerned officials that the project of watershed development component of the Prime Minister Agricultural Irrigation Scheme should be done in a coordinated manner with the Pandit Deendayal Scheme of land conservation, farm pond scheme and RAD scheme, and by making people aware about water harvesting, soil conservation, livelihood enhancement and natural resources, the catchment should be developed by imitating it in the model watershed.
He directed for rapid physical progress of the targets of all the schemes, so that the farmers do not have to face any kind of irrigation problem and the production and productivity of their fields can be increased. Under this scheme, he directed for technical approval and tripartite contract by establishing coordination with the Horticulture Department for the installation of sprinklers. He also directed the officials that the updated status of all the beneficiaries who have dug farm ponds should be reviewed within a week through the Land Conservation Officer.
