New Delhi – The non-profit organization Kisan Trust, founded by Bharat Ratna Chaudhary Charan Singh, proudly hosted the inaugural ‘Aparajita Samman Ceremony’ on International Women’s Day 2025. The event honored the resilience and achievements of women while addressing crucial social issues such as the rehabilitation and reintegration of acid attack survivors through financial aid.

The event featured two major panel discussions, engaging experts, policymakers, and influential changemakers in society.

The first discussion focused on key aspects of women’s health, including the lack of awareness from childhood, challenges in prioritizing health, breaking menopause-related myths, and the role of nutrition and fitness in overall well-being. Panelists for this session included Deepika Anand (World Bank), Dr. Shehla Jamal (Sarvodaya Hospital), nutritionist Ishi Khosla, and social impact specialist Shaifalika Panda. Social activist Manisha Ahlawat moderated the session.

The second discussion delved into how digitization was transforming women’s lives—enhancing financial literacy, creating new job opportunities, providing market access to women-led businesses, and promoting gender inclusivity. Prominent speakers for this session included Archana Vyas (Gates Foundation), Dr. Umang Mathur (Dr. Shroff Charity Eye Hospital), Natasha Jog (Meta), and Sanya Seth (UN Women), with leadership coach Shilpi Singh as the moderator.

Dr. Yashveer Singh, President of Kisan Trust, stated:

“Women’s empowerment should not be limited to discussions alone but must be followed by concrete actions. Through the ‘Aparajita Samman Ceremony,’ we are not only celebrating women’s contributions but also standing in solidarity with the brave women who have displayed unwavering courage in the face of adversity.”

Kisan Trust believed that true empowerment was possible only through collective efforts. The Aparajita Samman Ceremony was more than just an event—it was a movement dedicated to recognizing and supporting women who had battled against adversity. By providing financial aid to acid attack survivors, Kisan Trust strengthened its mission to foster inclusivity and justice in society.
