Bhubaneswar: Sahitya Akademi conferred Fellowship to eminent Odia writer and scholar Dr Pratibha Ray in a special function organised at Sanskruti Bhawan Auditorium, Bhubaneswar. In the beginning invocation song was presented by Dr Adyasha Das. Secretary of Sahitya Akademi Dr Varun Gulati presented an opening remarks and read the citation of Fellowship.
Dr Madhav Kaushik presented the fellowship plaque to Dr Ray and also delivered the presidential address. He said that Dr Ray is the living legend of Indian Literature. A samvad programme was organised which was followed by fellowship presentation where Dr Gourahari Das was in chair.
Dr Das said that Dr Ray is the first woman writer of Odisha to recrive the fellowship of Sahitya Akademi. Eminent writer Debaprasad Dash, Professor Sanghamitra Mishra and Professor Prafulla Kumar Mohanty delivered their speeches on life and cretions of Pratibha Ray.
Dr Pratibha Ray delivered acceptance speech of fellowship on this occassion. At the end the vote of thanks was proposed by Deputy Secretary Dr N Suresh Babu. The programme was attended by a large number of writers and scholars.
