Varanasi: Lions Club Varanasi Royal organised a grand Teej festival on Sunday, September 27, 2026, at Hari Vilas Enclave in Siddhagiri Bagh. Zone Chairperson Simran Bagga was the chief guest. The programme featured music, a quiz, a skit and other cultural events, and women members took part in traditional attire. The club gave every woman present a flower pot, and the event ended with a vote of thanks by Meenakshi Agarwal.
The women members of the club joined in with great enthusiasm, bringing the traditional spirit of Teej and Indian culture to life. Dressed in bright, traditional outfits, they gave the whole event a special charm.
Guests welcomed
Zone Chairperson Simran Bagga was the chief guest. Former Mandala president Lion Balveer Bagga was also welcomed and felicitated. The programme began with the reception of the guests, and club office-bearers and members greeted them and extended Teej wishes.
Music, games and performances
The festival included music, a quiz, a skit and several other entertaining and cultural programmes, with women members taking an active part in the various competitions. Musical performances kept the mood cheerful, while the skit and quiz drew everyone’s attention. Members also showed plenty of excitement during the game of Housie.
In keeping with the spirit of the festival, the women wore traditional Indian dress, and the event was a pleasing mix of celebration, tradition and cultural variety. A lively, joyful atmosphere lasted through the programme.
Flower pots gifted to women
On the occasion, Lions Club Varanasi Royal presented flower pots to all the women present, a gift the members appreciated. Along with sharing the joy of Teej, the club also tried to send a positive message about nature and greenery.
Organisers make the event memorable
Programme conveners Ragini Pandya, Mamta Agarwal and Amrita Agarwal made a special contribution to the success of the event. Under their capable coordination, and with the support of club members, the various programmes were carried out smoothly. Active participation by members in the competitions and cultural performances also played an important part.

Former Mandala president Mangal Soni also attended with his family, and his presence added to the dignity of the occasion. Club members shared the joy of the festival with guests and senior members.

Chief guest and Zone Chairperson Simran Bagga wished everyone a happy Teej and said cultural events like this are an important way of keeping Indian traditions and values alive.
