Samsung India Honours 30 Outstanding Students Under Innovation Campus Programme, Awards ₹1 Lakh to Top Performers

Gurugram, June 5:Samsung India honoured 30 outstanding students from across the country under its flagship Samsung Innovation Campus (SIC) programme, recognizing exceptional performance in four future-focused disciplines—Artificial Intelligence (AI), Coding and Programming, Internet of Things (IoT), and Big Data.

Each topper received a cash award of ₹1 lakh for demonstrating excellence in their respective fields. The awardees included four national toppers, 26 state-level toppers and one Social Media Champion, selected from a pool of more than 20,000 students trained through the programme. The 2025 batch of winners represented 10 states, highlighting the growing spread of technology talent beyond India’s traditional innovation hubs.

The students were felicitated at Samsung India’s headquarters in Gurugram in the presence of JB Park, President and CEO of Samsung Southwest Asia. Congratulating the awardees, JB Park said the students represented the next generation of engineers, innovators, entrepreneurs, researchers and business leaders. He emphasized that AI, coding and data skills are no longer future competencies but essential skills for today’s world, urging students to remain curious, resilient and adaptable.

Aligned with the Government of India’s Skill India and Digital India missions, Samsung Innovation Campus is one of Samsung’s flagship corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at equipping young people with future-ready technology skills. Through structured training in AI, IoT, coding, programming and big data, the programme seeks to enhance employability while fostering innovation, critical thinking and digital leadership.

The success stories of several awardees reflected the programme’s impact. Aishwarya Sanjay from Karnataka used her training to develop an AI-based model designed to improve farmers’ market access through community-supported agriculture. From Uttar Pradesh, Shivam Singh leveraged his learning in IoT, cybersecurity and automation to build projects ranging from home automation systems to cybersecurity models, which helped him secure an internship at the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.

Students such as Dev Uppal from Delhi and Vanshika Raghav from Haryana credited the programme with helping them apply classroom learning to real-world challenges while strengthening their confidence, analytical thinking and technical expertise.

Beyond the awards ceremony, participants were given an opportunity to visit Samsung’s research and development facilities in Noida and Delhi, as well as Samsung Design Delhi. The visits provided insights into the company’s innovation ecosystem, user-centric design philosophy and next-generation product development processes. Students also interacted with technology leaders to understand how emerging technologies can be applied to solve real-world problems.

The event was attended by Madhavendra Singh, CEO of the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India, and Lieutenant General Kulbhushan H. Gavs, CEO of the Telecom Sector Skill Council. The Samsung Innovation Campus programme is implemented in collaboration with ESSCI and TSSC, two key sector skill councils under India’s Skill India ecosystem that are responsible for setting industry skill standards, certification frameworks and workforce development initiatives.

As India accelerates its digital transformation journey, Samsung Innovation Campus continues to create pathways for young talent to access advanced technology education, mentorship and career opportunities, helping nurture the country’s next generation of innovators and problem-solvers.
