Gonda: Chief Medical Officer Dr Santlal Patel conducted surprise inspections of health facilities in the Aryanagar and Rupaideeh areas on Tuesday to assess the quality and availability of healthcare services.
During an inspection of a maternity and childcare centre and a newly opened medical store in Aryanagar, the CMO found that the maternity centre was allegedly operating without the required registration. Several registers were also found at the premises. Dr Patel directed officials to issue notices to the concerned operators and initiate action as per applicable regulations.
The CMO subsequently conducted a surprise inspection of the Primary Health Centre and delivery centre at Rupaideeh. He reviewed the attendance of Medical Officer Dr Jitendra Mishra and paramedical staff, along with attendance registers and other records.
Dr Patel instructed all employees to report for duty on time and stressed that no negligence would be tolerated in providing healthcare services to patients.
During the inspection of the labour room, he reviewed cleanliness, availability of medicines and arrangements for pregnant women and newborns. He directed the facility to maintain adequate stocks of essential medicines and ensure that medicines are provided to patients attending the OPD.
The CMO also emphasised maintaining cleanliness, discipline and proper arrangements across the hospital premises.
