Lucknow: Hospitals and healthcare institutions across Uttar Pradesh are set to organise a public service campaign on the occasion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with fruit distribution among patients and blood donation camps planned as part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’.
The Health Department will organise service-oriented and community welfare activities in Lucknow and other parts of the state. The campaign will focus on extending support to hospitalised patients and encouraging voluntary blood donation to help ensure timely availability of blood for those in need.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister and Health Minister Brajesh Pathak will inaugurate the programme. During the campaign, fruits will be distributed among patients admitted to hospitals, while volunteers and organisers will interact with them and extend wishes for their speedy recovery.
According to the programme plan, blood donation camps will be organised at several hospitals and blood banks in the state capital. Institutions participating in the Lucknow drive include Medanta Hospital, Kalyan Singh Cancer Institute, Life Care Charitable Blood and Component Centre, Awadh Charitable Blood Bank, Charak Hospital, Balrampur Hospital, Civil Hospital, King George’s Medical University (KGMU), Lucknow University’s Old Campus and Lok Bandhu Raj Narayan Hospital, among others.
The blood donation initiative is aimed at encouraging more people to donate blood and strengthening supplies so that patients requiring transfusions can receive blood when needed.
Focus on Service and Public Welfare
Brajesh Pathak said the Prime Minister’s birthday is being observed as an occasion to promote service, cleanliness and public welfare. He said the campaign seeks to strengthen the spirit of community participation by encouraging citizens to contribute to social welfare activities.
He said blood donation would be an important component of the initiative, alongside efforts to reach out to hospitalised patients, enquire about their well-being and convey a message of compassion and service.
Pathak also emphasised that the spirit of public service should not remain confined to a single day. He called upon people to assist those in need according to their capacity and participate in activities that contribute to the welfare of society.
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is therefore being positioned as a statewide public participation initiative combining healthcare-related assistance, voluntary blood donation and outreach to patients with a broader message of social responsibility and community service.
