Gonda: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) organised a membership drive at the main gate of Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri College in Gonda on Monday, with a large number of students and young people joining the party.
The campaign was led by AAP Gonda district president Ajay Kumar Mishra, popularly known as Ajju Pandit. According to the party, the drive witnessed strong participation from college students and youth interested in its organisational activities and political ideas.
Among those who enrolled were Shivani, Ketki, Komal Tiwari, Khushboo Gautam, Purnima, Ranjan Verma, Pankaj Kashyap, Satya Prakash Mishra, Kuldeep Kumar Gaur, Manish Tiwari, Pappi Mishra, Pinky Mishra, Aryan Sen, Mohini Mishra, Mohit Mishra, Nikhil Shukla, Shubham Pandey, Ashish Kumar Srivastava, Adnan, Suhini Shukla, Komal Shukla, Prateek Mishra, Amit Kumar Yadav, Gaurav Tiwari, Ankit, Shiva, Amar Tiwari and Nitish Tiwari, among others.
AAP district patron Digvijay Pandey, district secretary Pushpa Sharma, Gonda Sadar Assembly president Shyamu Valmiki and Katra Bazar Assembly vice-president Suraj Mishra were among the party representatives present.
Party office-bearers welcomed the new members and encouraged them to participate in organisational activities and engage with public-interest issues.
Ajay Kumar Mishra said the participation of young people and students in political and social affairs was important for democratic participation. He said the party would continue its organisational efforts to connect more young people through membership campaigns.
He added that drives around colleges and educational institutions are intended to establish dialogue with youth and provide them with a platform for participation in social and democratic activities.
