Sanjay Singh Announces ‘Paper Leak Par Charcha’ Drive Across All 75 Districts, Plans Major Protest in Lucknow

Prayagraj/Lucknow: Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh on Monday accused the BJP-led governments at the Centre and in Uttar Pradesh of failing to protect the future of millions of students, alleging that repeated examination paper leaks and recruitment irregularities have severely undermined the aspirations of young job seekers.

Addressing a programme titled “Paper Leak Par Charcha” (Discussion on Paper Leaks) in Prayagraj, Singh claimed that administrative officials attempted to stop the event despite it being a peaceful discussion involving students, educators, and former student leaders. Describing the intervention as an attack on democratic rights, he announced that AAP would organize similar programmes in all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh before staging a large-scale demonstration in Lucknow.

According to Singh, the issue of examination paper leaks has become a recurring challenge affecting recruitment and entrance examinations across the country. He alleged that the leakage of the NEET examination paper impacted nearly 2.2 million students and argued that repeated irregularities in recruitment and competitive examinations have created uncertainty among young aspirants.

The AAP leader listed several examinations that he claimed had been affected by leaks, cancellations, or controversies over the years, including police recruitment examinations, village development officer recruitment tests, teacher eligibility tests, revenue accountant examinations, board examinations, and other competitive recruitment processes. He alleged that these incidents reflected systemic failures in safeguarding examination integrity.

Singh further alleged that some agencies entrusted with conducting examinations had previously faced questions regarding their credibility. He claimed that despite concerns and controversies, such agencies continued to receive contracts for conducting important recruitment examinations. He also accused the government of failing to take adequate action against those responsible for irregularities.

Referring to the Prayagraj event, Singh said students and former student union leaders from Allahabad University had gathered to share their experiences and concerns regarding examination-related issues. According to him, the discussion was being conducted peacefully without any protest, road blockade, or law-and-order concerns when officials allegedly arrived at the venue and sought to halt the programme.

“It is unfortunate that when the future of millions of students is affected, there appears to be little concern, but when students gather to discuss their grievances, efforts are made to silence them,” Singh said. He described the situation as a threat to democratic discourse and alleged that students were being denied the opportunity to openly discuss issues affecting their futures.

The Rajya Sabha MP announced that the Aam Aadmi Party would now conduct ‘Paper Leak Par Charcha’ programmes across all districts of Uttar Pradesh. The campaign, he said, would involve students, parents, teachers, and civil society groups in discussions on examination reforms and recruitment transparency.

Following the district-level outreach, Singh said the party would organize a major gathering in Lucknow to demand accountability and answers from the government regarding repeated examination controversies.

Commenting on recent measures aimed at securing examination papers, Singh criticized proposals involving air transportation of question papers, arguing that stronger action should instead be taken against those responsible for leaks and irregularities. He maintained that addressing the root causes of examination fraud was more important than introducing logistical changes.

The AAP leader also expressed concern over reported actions against certain coaching institutions in Prayagraj, alleging that educational organizations supporting students’ concerns were being unfairly targeted.

Calling on students to unite, Singh said the issue transcended political affiliations and concerned the future of millions of young people. He asserted that the campaign would continue until examination systems become more transparent and students receive what he described as justice and fair opportunities.

The statements were made during the Prayagraj event and represent the views and allegations put forward by the Aam Aadmi Party leadership. No response from the Uttar Pradesh government or concerned authorities was available at the time of the programme.
