Bareilly: Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University (MJPRU), Bareilly, has achieved a significant academic milestone by successfully conducting, for the first time, the PhD Research Advisory Committee (RDC) proceedings for four international research scholars from Nepal in the discipline of Economics.
The university described the development as a landmark in its journey towards internationalisation and the expansion of global academic and research collaborations.
The four Nepalese research scholars—Janak Raj Joshi, Giri Raj Joshi, Dharma Dev Bhatt and Govind Raj Upadhyay—appeared before the Research Advisory Committee, where subject experts conducted a comprehensive review of their proposed research topics, methodology, research framework and future course of study.
During the RDC proceedings, the committee offered academic guidance and constructive recommendations to strengthen the research proposals before approving them for further progress. The scholars are expected to submit their doctoral theses after completing the prescribed stages of research.
University officials said the successful completion of the RDC process for international scholars represents an important step in enhancing MJPRU’s global academic profile. The initiative is expected to attract more international students seeking higher education and research opportunities at the university while strengthening cross-border academic cooperation.
The Directorate of International Relations at the university has been actively working to facilitate the admission, academic mentoring and research activities of foreign students. Officials believe the latest achievement will further enhance the institution’s reputation as an emerging destination for international research and higher education.
The university noted that expanding international academic partnerships remains a key priority, with initiatives aimed at creating a globally competitive research ecosystem and fostering greater exchange of knowledge across borders. The successful participation of the four Nepalese scholars is being viewed as a significant milestone in that broader vision.
