Mumbai: Sony SAB’s mythological epic ‘Gatha Shiv Parivar Ki – Ganesh Kartikeya’ continues to immerse viewers in the lesser-known stories of the divine Shiva family—Lord Shiva, Goddess Parvati, Lord Ganesh and Lord Kartikeya. With each unfolding chapter, the show expands its spiritual universe, blending inner purpose, emotional journeys and the eternal conflict between dharma and adharma in a compelling narrative.
As the Ganesh Kartikeya track intensifies, acclaimed actor Nirbhay Wadhwa, known for his impactful performances in mythological shows, makes a powerful entry as Sindhurasur. The character is an asura whose destiny is bound to Tulsi (played by Geet Jain) through a curse—one that Lord Ganesh pronounced after Tulsi, in turn, cursed him. Born out of rejection and shaped by a loveless existence, Sindhurasur grows into a fearsome tyrant, bringing an immediate surge of drama and darkness to the storyline. His character adds emotional depth to the themes of fate, resentment and the intoxicating pull of power.
Speaking about stepping into the role, Nirbhay Wadhwa shared that Sindhurasur’s emotional complexity drew him to the character.
“When I first read about Sindhurasur, what struck me most was how differently his story begins—not with power, but with pain. He is not just an asura; he is shaped by rejection and a life where he was never truly loved. That emotional foundation makes him far more layered than a conventional villain,” he said.
Recalling his first day on set, Wadhwa added,
“I still remember shooting my very first scene—standing in heavy armour. The director whispered to me, ‘Feel the weight of everything that was denied to him.’ That moment helped me truly understand Sindhurasur. Playing him is not just about portraying rage or strength; it is about carrying a lifetime of pain that eventually turns into terror. This is one of the most layered roles I’ve played, and I’m excited for viewers to see how his presence completely alters the rhythm of the story.”

With Sindhurasur’s dramatic entry, the show promises heightened conflict, emotional intensity and pivotal turning points in the journey of Ganesh and Kartikeya.
‘Gatha Shiv Parivar Ki – Ganesh Kartikeya’ airs Monday to Saturday at 8:00 PM, exclusively on Sony SAB.
