Lucknow: As part of its ongoing Mission Shakti 5.0 campaign, the Malihabad Police Station of Lucknow Police Commissionerate organized a village chaupal (public outreach program) in Gram Dularmau on October 6, 2025, to raise awareness about women’s safety and rights. The initiative brought together 20-25 women from surrounding villages, providing them with direct access to law enforcement and critical resources.
The program, held under the guidance of Lucknow Police Commissioner Shri Amrendra Kumar Sengar, is part of a broader effort across the district where Mission Shakti Centers have been established at 54 police stations. Each center is staffed with one Inspector, one Additional Inspector, one Sub-Inspector, and one Female Sub-Inspector, ensuring that women’s issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
Event Organizers and Team:
- Mrs. Manisha Pathak, Female Sub-Inspector, Mission Shakti In-charge, Malihabad
- Raju, Head Constable, Malihabad Police Station
- Lalita, Female Constable, Malihabad Police Station
Objective of the Chaupal:
The primary goals of the outreach program were:
- To educate women about laws related to their safety, such as the Dowry Prohibition Act, Domestic Violence Act, Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, and Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace Act.
- To inform women of their rights and encourage them to be vigilant and empowered.
- To facilitate quick resolution of women’s complaints through Mission Shakti Centers.
Highlights of the Program:
The Malihabad Police team briefed participants about the services available at Mission Shakti Centers and Women Help Desks, distributing pamphlets and explaining key helpline numbers:
- 1090 – Women Power Line
- 112 – Emergency Services
- 1076 / 181 – Women’s Helpline
- 108 – Ambulance Services
The session also focused on cyber safety, warning women against online fraud, emphasizing the importance of keeping OTP confidential, and discouraging unsafe online payments. Participants were informed about Cyber Helpline 1930 and advised on maintaining privacy on social media platforms.

Girls and young women were encouraged to become self-reliant and informed about ways to secure their future, emphasizing empowerment alongside safety.
Community Impact:
By fostering awareness about legal protections, providing direct access to law enforcement, and highlighting preventive measures, the program has strengthened trust between the police and the community. Women were taught to immediately contact helpline numbers or use messaging services in case of emergencies, ensuring rapid intervention.
The initiative reinforces Lucknow Police’s commitment to “Women’s Safety, Respect, and Self-Reliance” and reflects a structured approach to empowering women across rural areas. Officials emphasized that such outreach programs should continue in more villages to build a safer, more equitable society.
Mission Shakti 5.0 – Motto:
“Every Village, Every Woman; Be Safe, Be Aware”
With ongoing efforts like these, Lucknow Police are actively bridging the gap between law enforcement and women in rural communities, ensuring that awareness translates into tangible safety and empowerment.
