Homeopathy Department at Vivekananda Hospital Reports Encouraging Outcomes in Complex Neurological Disorders

Lucknow: The Homeopathy Department of Vivekananda Polyclinic and Institute of Medical Sciences, Nirala Nagar, Lucknow, is reporting encouraging outcomes in the management of complex and long-term neurological disorders. The department functions under the guidance of Swami Muktinathananda Maharaj, Secretary of the institution, and the leadership of Dr. Amit Pandey, Head of the Homeopathy Department.

According to the institution, several patients suffering from chronic neurological conditions have experienced improvements in their overall health and quality of life through individualized homeopathic care.

One such patient, Suresh Kumar, a resident of Kiratpur in Barabanki district, had been suffering from gliosis-related neurological complications. The condition had significantly affected his daily life and routine activities for a prolonged period. Following regular homeopathic consultations, personalized treatment based on his individual symptoms and constitution, and continuous follow-up care, he reportedly experienced notable improvement in his condition. Hospital officials said the positive response has brought renewed hope to both the patient and his family while encouraging other patients facing similar health challenges.

Inspired by such outcomes, Sumeli Das, a Ph.D. scholar in Geography, is also currently undergoing treatment at the Homeopathy Department of Vivekananda Polyclinic and Institute of Medical Sciences.

Nearly 19 years ago, at the age of 23, Sumeli Das suffered a severe road accident that resulted in a traumatic brain injury. She remained in a coma for approximately 19 days, and more than 20 surgical procedures were performed across different hospitals to save her life. While these interventions were successful in preserving her life, the long-term effects of the injury continued to impact her physical balance, functional abilities, and day-to-day activities.

She is now receiving homeopathic treatment under the supervision of Dr. Amit Pandey. Her family and the medical team are hopeful that a comprehensive, patient-centered, and long-term therapeutic approach will contribute to further improvements in her health, functionality, and overall quality of life, enabling her to carry out daily activities with greater independence and confidence.

Speaking about the treatment approach, Dr. Amit Pandey said that homeopathy aims not merely to address symptoms but to focus on the patient as a whole, considering physical, mental, and emotional aspects of health. He noted that individualized treatment plans can sometimes yield encouraging outcomes in chronic and complex neurological conditions. However, he emphasized that treatment responses vary from patient to patient, and outcomes depend on individual circumstances.

Swami Muktinathananda Maharaj highlighted the institution’s commitment to compassionate healthcare, stating that medical service is a form of service to humanity. Drawing inspiration from Swami Vivekananda’s ideal of “Service to Man is Service to God,” he said the institution strives to provide every patient with quality healthcare delivered with compassion, dedication, and dignity.

“The true purpose of healthcare is not only to treat disease but also to restore hope, confidence, and a better quality of life. When treatment possibilities appear limited, homeopathy can offer a ray of hope for some patients,” he said.

The Homeopathy Department of Vivekananda Polyclinic and Institute of Medical Sciences reaffirmed its commitment to providing comprehensive, accessible, and quality healthcare services to patients suffering from complex and chronic illnesses in the years ahead.
