24 wordsmiths who write for children to be honoured

Awarded writers of Indian languages ​​will share their creative experiences on 15th

Lucknow. Sahitya Akademi Delhi’s Children’s Literature Award Arpan Samaroh 2024 will be held in Lucknow on Children’s Day this time. On the first day of the two-day event, on 14th November at 5 pm, Chief Guest Prof. Surya Prasad Dixit and Academy President Madhav Kaushik, who is presiding over the ceremony, will award 24 children’s writers of Indian languages ​​with a sum of Rs. 50,000 and a copper plaque. On the second day, 15th November, the ideological sessions of the writers will be held at Hindi Sansthan Hazratganj from morning.

According to the information received from Academy Secretary  K Srinivas Rao, the writers who will receive the Children’s Literature Award 2024 are Ranju Hazarika- Assamese, Dipanwita Rai- Bengali, Bharjin Jack’bha Mosahary- Bodo, Bishan Singh Dardi- Dogri, Nandini Sengupta- English, Gira Pinakin Bhatt- Gujarati, Devendra Kumar- Hindi, Krishnamurthy Biligere- Kannada, Muzaffar Hussain Dilbar- Kashmiri, Harsha Sadguru Shetye- Konkani, Narayanji- Maithili, Unni Ammayambalam- Malayalam, Kshetrimayum Suvadani- Manipuri, Bharat Sasane- Marathi, Vasant Thapa- Nepali, Manas Ranjan Samal- Odia, Kuldeep Singh Deep- Punjabi, Prahlad Singh Jhorda- Rajasthani, Harshdev Madhav- Sanskrit, Dugai Tudu- Santhali, Lal Hotchandani Lachar- Sindhi, Yuma Vasuki- Tamil, Pamidimukkala Chandrashekhar Azad- Telugu and Shamsul Islam Farooqi- Urdu. The closing remarks will be given by the Vice President of the Central Sahitya Akademi, Kumud Sharma, while the welcome address will be given by the Secretary.

On the second day, 15 November, from 10 am, there will be a ‘Lekhak Sammelan’ with the award winning children’s writers in the Nirala Auditorium, Hindi Institute. In this, the award winners will share their statements and experiences of creative writing under the chairmanship of Kumud Sharma. In the second session at 2.30 pm, there will be a seminar on ‘Children’s Writing: Past, Present and Future’. Writers from various Indian languages ​​will express their views in the seminar.
