UP DGP Rajiv Krishna’s Father Passes Away: CM Yogi Visits Family to Offer Condolences, BJP State President Also Pays Respects

Lucknow: Hari Kishan Mittal, father of Uttar Pradesh DGP Rajiv Krishna and a former Chief Engineer with the Irrigation Department, passed away on Wednesday at the age of 86. He lived in Lucknow’s Ashiyana area.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited the grieving family to offer his condolences. He consoled DGP Rajiv Krishna, calling Hari Kishan Mittal’s passing deeply saddening, and prayed for peace for the departed soul and strength for the family to bear this irreparable loss. BJP state president Pankaj Chaudhary also visited the DGP’s residence in Ashiyana to offer his condolences.

Hari Kishan Mittal was born in 1938 in Meerut. He studied civil engineering at Roorkee University and joined the UP Irrigation Department in 1960. Over more than three decades of service, he played a key role in major projects including the Kalagarh Dam project, the Pilibhit-Banbasa bifurcation project, and the Tehri power house project. After retiring, he had been living in Ashiyana. He is survived by two sons — UP DGP Rajiv Krishna and Sanjeev Mittal — daughter-in-law Meenakshi Singh (Chief Commissioner of Income Tax), and daughter Seema Garg.

His last rites are being performed at Bhainsakund in Lucknow. His funeral procession was attended by family members along with a large number of police department officials and other well-wishers.
