SRMS Inter-School Cricket Tournament Season 7: Quarterfinal Action Heats Up on Day 8

Bareilly: The eighth day of the Shri Ram Murti Memorial Inter-School Cricket Tournament Season 7 (2026) witnessed two exciting quarterfinal matches, as teams battled for a place in the semifinals. The tournament is being organized by SRMS College of Engineering and Technology and is recognized by the Bareilly Cricket Association.

In the first quarterfinal, SR International School defeated National Public School by six wickets to secure a semifinal berth. After winning the toss, SR International captain Abhimanyu Srivastava opted to field first. National Public School struggled against a disciplined bowling attack and was bowled out for just 66 runs in 9.4 overs. Shivansh Gangwar and Akshat starred with the ball, claiming three wickets each.

Chasing the modest target, SR International comfortably reached victory in 8.3 overs. Key contributions came from Abhimanyu (16), Tishap (14), and Arhaan Yadav (15), ensuring a smooth chase. Akshat, who picked up three crucial wickets, was named Man of the Match.

The second quarterfinal saw Vidya World dominate Girish Prasad Memorial (GPM) School with a massive 131-run victory. After winning the toss, Vidya World captain Abhimanyu Jawla chose to bat first. The team posted an imposing total of 199 runs in 19.1 overs, powered by an outstanding 72-run knock from Abhay Saxena. Valuable contributions also came from Ankit Nagar (25), Lucky Chaudhary (25), and Shivansh Mishra (27).

In response, GPM started positively but failed to build partnerships and was eventually bowled out for just 68 runs in 15.5 overs. Garvraj (19) and Jayant Tomar (15) were the only notable contributors.

Shivansh Srivastava delivered a match-winning bowling performance for Vidya World, taking six wickets for just 15 runs in four overs, earning him the Man of the Match award.

The awards were presented by organizing committee secretary Dr. Shobhit Saxena and deputy secretary Engineer Nipun Pandey, along with Manish Singh.

With these results, SR International and Vidya World have advanced to the semifinals, setting the stage for more thrilling encounters in the tournament.
