Lucknow: The concluding ceremony of Hindi Fortnight-2026 at the CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute (CSIR-CDRI), Lucknow, featured a lively humour poetry session that drew around 450 people and filled the institute’s main auditorium with laughter and applause.
The programme was organised by the Official Language Department of CSIR-CDRI in collaboration with the Uttar Pradesh Language Institute, Lucknow, with the support of its Director Sarvesh Kumar Singh. Poet Pankaj Prasoon conducted the event.
Poet Ashok Jhanjhati presented humorous verses exploring relationships and changing human behaviour, while Kamal Agneya focused on science, self-confidence and India’s growing capabilities. Pankaj Prasoon entertained the audience with witty observations on social media and the digital age.
Poet Shikha Srivastava presented a sensitive composition on love, relationships and emotional bonds. Mukul Mahan combined themes of tea, newspapers, love and life’s journey in his poetry, while Hemant Pandey had the audience laughing with his humorous take on romance.
During the programme, Chief Scientist Dr Rajkamal Srivastava felicitated all the participating poets. Sarvesh Kumar Singh, Director of the Uttar Pradesh Language Institute, also participated in the event.
The programme highlighted the importance of promoting Hindi language and literature and encouraging greater use of Hindi in scientific institutions. Scientists, officers, employees and guests of CSIR-CDRI attended the event.
With a mix of humour, satire and poetry, the concluding programme provided an engaging finale to Hindi Fortnight-2026 and left the audience with an evening of entertainment and literary expression.
