Bareilly: A high-level meeting was held at the Police Lines auditorium to review arrangements for the upcoming Urs-e-Tajushsharia, scheduled on April 24 and 25 in the district. The meeting was jointly chaired by Additional Director General of Police Ramit Sharma, Divisional Commissioner Bhupendra S. Chaudhary, Deputy Inspector General Ajay Kumar Sahni, District Magistrate Avinash Singh, and Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya.
At the outset, officials reviewed the progress on shortcomings and requirements identified during the previous meeting held on April 9. Departments presented updates on their preparedness for ensuring smooth conduct of the religious event.
Traffic arrangements will include diversions at key routes such as Jhumka Tiraha, Parsakhera, Kudeshia Underpass, and Nainital Road. Health authorities informed that 102/108 ambulance services, mobile medical units, and health camps will be deployed. Fire safety measures will also be strengthened with adequate firefighting arrangements.
Police officials outlined a detailed security framework, dividing the city into three super zones, five zones, and 13 sector zones for effective deployment. Authorities emphasized maintaining law and order and ensuring seamless coordination among departments.
The Divisional Commissioner directed organizers and officials to ensure the event is conducted peacefully and instructed that no new traditions be introduced that could disrupt communal harmony. The ADG highlighted the importance of preventing any unforeseen disruptions and urged vigilance, including monitoring of social media to avoid the spread of objectionable content.

Special attention was drawn to the overlap with the Home Guard recruitment examination scheduled from April 25 to 27. Officials were instructed to ensure that candidates reach their examination centres on time, with proper traffic and volunteer management in place. Volunteers will be issued ID cards with proper identification and numbering.
The District Magistrate stated that arrangements for road repairs, drinking water, medical camps, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, fire safety, and traffic management have been made, and directed officials to conduct on-ground verification to address any gaps.
The SSP reiterated that non-traditional activities will not be permitted and assured full police support. He also instructed increased night patrolling and proper issuance of vehicle passes to avoid inconvenience during the event and examination days.
The meeting was attended by Municipal Commissioner Sanjeev Kumar Maurya, ADM (Administration) Poornima Singh, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vishram Singh, SP City Manush Pareek, SP South Anshika Verma, SP Rural Mukesh Chandra Mishra, SP Crime Manish Sonkar, SP Traffic Mohd. Akmal Khan, and other senior police and administrative officials. The review meeting underscored the प्रशासन’s commitment to ensuring a safe, well-organized, and peaceful organizing of Urs-e-Tajushsharia in Bareilly.
